Matthew D. Marca is a partner of the firm. He joined the California State Bar in 1995 after graduating from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. For the past ten years, Matthew's practice has an emphasis in employer counseling, litigation and appellate practice involving wrongful discharge, age, race, sex, disability discrimination and harassment, FMLA/CFRA denial and discrimination, and workers' compensation. His practice involves investigation, preventative counseling and training of officers, managers, and supervisors, responding to DFEH/EEOC administrative charges, litigating federal and state claims, advising clients on pragmatic cost/benefit analysis of litigation and settlement, and extensive settlement negotiations.

  • Represents publicly traded companies, small businesses, and public entities.

  • Developed and implemented manager and supervisor FMLA/CFRA compliance guidelines for industrially disabled employees.

  • Drafts writs of mandate and appellate briefs before the California Court of Appeals.

Matthew’s practice also includes defending private and public entities throughout California in disputes involving premises liability, employee conduct, police officer conduct, permit issuance, and civil rights violations as well as advising clients on transactional matters and litigating related disputes.
