The firm will adhere to any guidelines the client requires.  Our clients are encouraged to contact the responsible partner with any comments or questions about a bill.  The firm charges in increments of one-tenth of an hour for each activity.

        Of course, the hourly rate is not the only consideration in controlling costs.  We know cost containment is an important issue for every client.  At Taylor Gutierrez Marca, our expertise and experience, combined with effective lawyering and hard work, bring cost-effective results.  We have always made efficient legal services our priority.  We routinely provide a case analysis estimating total legal costs and placing a dollar value on potential liability or recovery.  We keep our clients involved in the implementation of that strategy throughout our representation.  Every significant expense is approved by the managing partner after discussion and approval by the client.  This allows our clients to make informed decisions before incurring further legal costs.

        We also explore Alternative Dispute Resolution, such as arbitration or mediation, in appropriate matters before expenses mount.  As experienced trial and transactional attorneys, we continuously evaluate case strategy and potential for resolution.

        The firm’s size is an advantage over large firms.  We pride ourselves on little or no staff or attorney turnover.  The attorneys who begin working on the matter will inevitably be the same attorneys at its conclusion.  Our overhead is reasonable, enabling us to pass those savings onto our clients.  Our offices are modest; we do not need expensive art adorning the walls or expensive rugs on the floors.  Our attorneys feel they can make sufficient income without inflated hours at absurd rates.  The firm is reasonably staffed without the need to support librarians, benefit specialists, technical services personnel, sundry managers or administrative assistants.

        Further, every bill is carefully reviewed by the managing partner, and time and expense cut, if necessary, to comport with the client’s expectations.  While this is time-intensive, we feel it is necessary to deliver client satisfaction.

        We also encourage our clients to contact us for advice to prevent legal problems from occurring. If the advice can be rendered without significant expenditure of time, it will be free of charge.  We view this service as part of our value-added relationship with our clients.
